Equatoria Coffee grows this Robusta in Nzara County, Western Equatoria State, a part of South Sudan roughly the size of Scotland where only a fraction of the land is under cultivation. Coffee has grown here for decades, but war and geography kept it almost entirely cut off from international markets — the nearest port is close to 3,000km away, across three borders, and much of the region has no road network beyond tracks passable by bicycle or motorbike.
